Canon 24-70 MM F/2.8L II USM Standard Zoom Lens
| June 10, 2012 | Posted by admin under Canon Lenses |
An update of the very popular, highly rated version 1 lens, this one offers a more durable, slightly smaller barrel; improved lens coatings; and new optics. The last will minimize all types of aberrations and provide less distortion at all focal lengths, particularly at 70 mm.
This is a full-frame lens suitable for EOS cameras with the 24 x 36 mm sensor but also with the many small-sensor EOS models.
Pros
- Rear-focusing system
- Ring-type Ultrasonic AF
- New algorithms for faster AF
- Extremely wide aperture
- Super UD & 2 UD elements
- Very rugged and well-sealed
- Circular nine-blade diaphragm
Cons
- Less useful with small-sensor EOS cameras (38-112 mm equivalent)
A great general-purpose lens
