Gary Fong Micro Four Thirds Puffer
| December 19, 2011 | Posted by admin under Camera Lighting |
A smaller version of the Puffer originally made for DSLRs, this new model also provides light diffusion from a built-in flash. It’s specifically intended for cameras like the Panasonic GF and Olympus E-PL series.
The device mounts in the hot shoe and hangs in front of the built-in flash to moderate the harsh, direct lighting effect. The Puffer is ideal for close-up photos.
Pros
- Provides softer light
- Minimizes hard shadows
- Useful for macro photos
- Works well for close-up portraits
- Does not affect camera automation
- Folds flat for storage
Cons
- Reduces effective range of flash
