Some lenses such as this Nikon 85mm offer fantastic low-light performance thanks to their large apertures. Trade-off is weight and price.
An update over a previous model, this lens benefits from a rapid AF-S Silent Wave AF system and a completely new optical design. Additional features include internal focusing, a rounded aperture for a pleasing bokeh and a minimum focusing distance of 80 cm.
The f/1.8 maximum aperture allows for especially shallow depth of field and for fast shutter speeds in low light with less need to use a high ISO.
